New Brunswick Bucket List
Love where you live. I’ve heard it. I’ve repeated it. But, when I really get a chance to sit down and think about it, I truly believe in it!
It’s important that we appreciate the place we come from. For me, the world seems so big and I want to explore every corner of it. It’s easy to get caught up in daydreaming of far away places, and forget to enjoy what’s around me.
Enter the pandemic.
I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on what I love about the Canadian Maritimes as of late, and particularly, New Brunswick. We have a lot to offer in this picture perfect province! There’s so much to see and enjoy in the summer months and I’m all about supporting local business at this time. I’m confident we can stay entertained despite not being able to travel outside the province just yet. And because I love helping my fellow Maritimers stay entertained, I’m more than happy to share my top recommendations.
Let’s call it a New Brunswick bucket list.
Hike to the waterfalls at Fundy National Park
Try out the following trails; Moosehorn, Laverty Falls, Third Vault Falls, Dickson Falls.
Eat and drink in Downtown Moncton
I highly recommend Tide and Boar Gastropub.
Relax in a Nordic Spa in Moncton
Because you deserve it. Check out USVA Nordik.
Kayak around the Hopewell Rocks
Make sure to read the tide tables!
Watch the highest tides in the world in Alma
Try also to see them at their lowest.
Hike Sussex Bluffs Trail
For an amazing view!
Hike along the Fundy Trail
This includes the 64km Fundy Footpath, but also less strenuous hikes, like Walton Glen Gorge Trail.
Visit St Martins Sea Caves
Try low tide for this one.
Dine on the boardwalk in Saint John
Patio season is my favourite time of the year!
Sleep under the stars on the Kingston Peninsula
Who doesn’t love glamping? Book at Ridgeback Lodge.
Check out the craft brewery scene in Fredericton
Maybe even try a beer tour.
Have a picnic on New River Beach
Clearly, there’s a way to bring food into everything.
Take the ferries from L’Etete to Campobello Island via Deer Island
An experience every New Brunswicker loves. Watch for whales! Check the ferry schedule beforehand.
Lighthouse hunting on Campobello Island
You’ll have to drive to the entire length of the island to find the famous Head Harbour Lightstation.
Go whale watching on Grand Manan Island
Search for humpbacks, minkes, finbacks and the endangered North Atlantic right whale.
